HT room is 13x20 w/ 10' ceilings... main seating is 15' back from front screen. I'm a bit axious w/ the rear placement... The main can and will be tweaked by just picking them up and moving them...

The scrips are mounted on a plate which is screwed to the wall. well moving them around is a bit of a project.

TIA

Related... opinions on putting the Stage below or above the screen?

Hola ScottG, welcome to the club. Just follow the instructions...or better, with the help of a friend, try to adjust the height of the Script stat panel to be the half of it right in level of your head when sitting at the sweet spot. That is the best location. The sound is like a flashlight...travels strait...happy listening, happy new year!!!

Script i and Stage Placement...

Scott,

I agree with Roberto, as long as the Script i / Stage panels are pointed at your head, i. e., the flash light technique, that is the most important for sound. ;) The sound waves do travel straight as Roberto said... I prefer my center (Theater i) above the monitor - pointing downward at the listening area. This worked well in my small listening area as my Descent is below my monitor, which works beautifully as well... :D I think you are going to have to play with placement a bit before you make that final placement decision.

HTH

Good luck! :D

Got it... Thx Roberto and Robin... I did read the flashlight technique on another thread and will use

Scott, I also agree with Roberto and Robin. My HT room is almost 22 ft wide and I have my Scripts mounted in the rear corner of the room. I experimented with many different positions and heights before deciding on mounting the scripts upside down with the panels at ear level. Even after mounting the Scripts I went back and lowered them another 6 inches. If mounting the Scripts right side up to have the panels at ear level the Scripts would only be about 18 inches of the ground. Though I'll bet Robin's Scripts properly sound better hanging right above the listening area. My wife won't go for that so I'll never know.

Scott,

I have mine right behind the listening position and I have them tilted down, but frankly they are not pointing down enough and hanging them upside down would have been a good idea, but the area mine are in would not allow for that.

You are welcome to come check mine out any time.

theWB and Scott,

Yes, I can tell you I notice sounds I never heard before with the panels pointing right down over the listening area. It is truly incredible I love it and everyone that has enjoyed my system, says that they love the surround sound from my Script i's... :D They have unlimited adjustment possibilities at any time as mine are just laying on top of plastic coated cable. It's killer surround sound from above. ;) I highly recommend this kind of Script mounting... :D

Wow... I never thought of hanging them from the ceiling or hanging them upside down... Upside down I think I can swing... not sure I'd get the 'approval' for ceiling... :p Robin did you just put in a couple of eye hooks in the ceiling? have you posted a picture of your mount that I missed?

Scott, I also just purchased ML surround system with the Script i's for the rear channels. Haven't taken delivery yet but when dealer came to house for pre-install look/see they also mentioned the upside down installation option. Let us know how you decide to go and feedback on the sound. Also, are you running power and speaker cable runs from floor or ceiling? Thanks.

Don't forget you will need a 110-120V outlet VERY near by for the panel's!

Yes, I-Bolts into beams in the ceiling...

Scott,

That is correct. :) If you look at - My System #57, in the members Systems section ~ at the fourth photo down, in the first post, you can see the ~ 1/4" I-Bolts - mounted to the ceiling (two / speaker). They are screwed into the ceiling. Or you can click on the link below (in my signature section of this post) Please check it out.... ;) It is truly wonderful... :D

Great pt. I have a couple of outlets on the rear wall.. but they are lower than I would like... If I go closer or on the ceiling... I'll have to add some outlets. Good news is there is power already up there for the projector.

I think upside down will be first thing I try... I have 2 power outlets on the the rear already... a pulling the speaker cables this week.

Glad it worked for you. Looking forward to the posting of your system.
We love pics here at the MLC.

Scott, I also recommend the upside-down, close to ceiling mount for Scripts.

Just make sure you can aim them for best sound at the seats (as described above).

Power is no big deal since you have ceiling access. One option is to have the electrician or (DIY) an outlet box in the attic, and just run the cables to the speaker though a small hole in the ceiling. Much cleaner than having an outlet box.

I'm actually going to do that for my crawl space, since the speaker wires already go through there, why not the power, makes for a cleaner install in-room.

Here's a picture on what I have so far...

Scott,
Looks good the height looks just right.

The Script on the right is crooked, try using a laser level if you have one if not it's well worth the investment.Cuts out all the time and guess work in measuring.:banghead:

To give the setup a cleaner look and higher WAF factor if you still have atttic or ceiling access,(can't tell from photo),I would move the wire hookups to come out just behind the woofer portion of the scripts keeping them out of sight.

There's also a bit they make thats mounted to a flexible rod, so you can actually cut the whole in the wall for the plate exactly where you want it and drill up or down through the wall to run your cable. It'll cost you about $40, but well worth it. Cuts the guess work out of where to drill from the attic, and doesn't require 2 people one in the attic drilling and one the floor below tapping at the ceiling of where you should drill. I still use this bit, just recently to run a cat5 cable to the basement for the kids wii,and ran another phone line into the bedroom to get caller ID on the television in there.
