After the tax return came back, I had some free space on my Tweeter card. My sub is the only component I haven't upgraded since I started my system over 4 years ago. So I called up Tweeter a few days ago and put in an order for a Depth i. He gave me a discount since I used to work there and bought my Motif from him also. It was supposed to be delivered today between 1 and 3 o'clock. The delivery guys called at 10 when I was on my way to take an exam for college so I told them to leave it with the neighbors. I get home from my test and go next door to move it into the house. The box on this thing is big, so I slide the box gently across the concrete to the house. It looks lke ML puts on outer shipping layer of cardboard around the actual box to prevent any extra damage while shipping. So after I get the outer layer of cardboard packing off, which looks like this:

Needless to say I did a little laughing since I was wondering why it was so much heavier getting it home than I thought it should be, not to mention unnecessarily overboxed.

The thing is a beast. The scene in Casino Royale where the building is sinking in Venice almost brought the walls down.

It makes me wonder what will happen to my warranty since my receipt shows a Depth i and also the 5 year Tweeter warranty that I bought for the same reason. It looks like the mistake was ML's, not Tweeter's since it looks like an ML packing container. Maybe anyone on the fence should buy the Depth and see what happens. I'm going to get back to listening. I have several more bass heavy movies that I need to revisit. Happy listening, guys.

So, I guess you are not going to return it for the sub you actually paid for.

I talked to my sales guy and he said he would call the warehouse on Monday and the ML Rep if needed to see what should be done.

Props for being honest- its something not found a lot these days and makes it a better bargaining chip when you go to upgrade other items in your set-up. I hope for your honesty they let you keep it!

As much as it seems like it would have been a great deal to keep it quiet. It would have been a non warranty forever deal. That is if you needed it. Then Tweeter may find their mistake and they would have called you.

Honesty always works ....Great job !Glad you are happy...;)

Blue light on the Descent

I noticed in your pics the blue light on the descent i's logo. I just ordered a depth i, and have yet to recieve it. Does the Depth i have the same blue light emblem as the descent? Just curious?

Still no word as of yet what's going to happen. My sales guy said the ML person he needs to speak to has been in meetings the past few days but he wants me to keep it. He has a Depth i himselfand said he was in my place when I told him the story. Until I hear a edcision, I guess I am forced to continue testing the integrity of the foundation of my house.
