From my memory..older Marantz players were notorios for not playing certain discs....Stop by Audio Asylum in the Digital Forum to read more about Marantz players.

Remember ripping of the CD will only give you the CD layer and not the SACD layer.

Only the cd layer can be afaik, sacd's big selling point to sony was its unrippabitity (if thats a word). It sounds pretty good throu a very cheap sony cd-r machine, and seeing as I forgot the blank discs today, thats how its staying for now
