1st Annual "That was Then, This is Now"
Wooden, Fiberglassics, and Classic and Modern Racing Boat Show.

http://muscatineboatshow.com/

The City of Muscatine, Iowa, and the Clear Lake Chapter of the ACBS are proud to welcome you to our first annual "Best of Both Worlds" boat show. You will see the glorious mahogany wooden boats of the past, fiberglassics of the 50's and 60's, and racing boats from yesterday and today. The Mississippi Riverfront is a perfect place to see your favorite mahogany classics from Chris Crafts to Century, Hackercraft, Aristocraft, Speedliner, and others. Then stroll down to the early years of fiberglass boat construction with fiberglassics that will include early Correct Craft inboards to a Herter's Flying Fish or Beeline Outboard. Then jump ahead in time to the evolution in boating with racing boats of yesterday and today. See open and closed ****pit boats in all categories from the Vintage Hydroplane Association to some of today's top boats in all of the classes of the International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) and American Power Boat Association (APBA) classes of competition.

This is a first for a combined show and we want to make this a boater's show, an event that only continue to grow. This show will cater to the boater and all suggestions will be entertained to make this show grow into the Sturgis of the boating world. The boats will be displayed on and off the water and everyone will be sure to be at the river's edge to watch the boats on the water. Muscatine used to have annual boat races on the mighty Mississippi and we want to bring them back. We now have the perfect waterfront park and staging area for a boat show and races and next year we are already looking at racing events for different categories.

Please mark your calendars now for May 19th, 2007, Rain Date May 20th. and plan now to attend. Browse through our website for more information. It will always be updated with all you need to know.

Another weird/cool boat on that site.

Dave and Pamela Moehrke have a 1957 Vali IV and when it comes to classic fiberglass this is a very unique boat. Vali IV only made one style of boat and it is very rare. The 1957 model had huge tail fins and a head light on each side back by the passenger compartment. They also had fins like a fish and look like a shark in a way. The Moehrke's Vali IV is powered by a Mercury Mark 58 I believe since it is listed as 45hp.

As found yesterday morning, my brand-new 2007 Saturn Aura...

The axe was burglarized from the back of my Suburban, which also had its windshield smashed.

OMG !!! Hopefully it was only the windshield and not any paint damage.

For your sake Brian I hope they catch the bastards !!

There is nothing worse than a vadel in my opinion. They are just jealous loosers with to much time and to little sense! Lock them up and throw away the key!

Agreed... cowards and idiots... I hope the prints on on the axe and the sh*t head prints are on file.

Damn, Brian. Who did you pi$$ off? What a pain in the butt. Some people are just worthless. I'm sure Huntsville's finest are all over this and will have the culprit in hand soon. ;)

(Edit: Interesting that the software will allow the use of the words damn and butt, but pi$$ is just too much for it.)

Axe meets windsheild, I hope they got something in their eye or messed up their elbow or something.

On the funny side to lighten up the place.

The hood and roof are being repainted now. The glass shards
sprayed everywhere and were like razorblades. They scratched
the crap out of the paint. It should be ready about Friday.
I have full coverage with no deductable on this car, so it's
not costing anything (except higher insurance premiums for
everyone in the area). Now my junky old Suburban only has
liability coverage, so I paid $200 for a new windshield today.
It's already installed and back home.

Damn, Brian. Who did you pi$$ off?

You know, that possibilty never occurred to me until the
investigator with the Madison Sheriff's Dept told me that
the nature of this crime pointed in that direction. The
responding Deputy and the follow-up from the investigator
were both excellent, by the way.

A couple of months ago a new Mercedes and a Lexus at
different houses where also vandalized one Friday night.
A screwdriver scraped over the doors and hood put several
thousand dollars in body and paint damages in each vehicle.

I knew about those prior crimes, so I assumed it was the
same infantile brats at work. I think it was brats because I
can't think of a motive for revenge against me. While this
isn't The Hamptons, I ain't exactly living in Da Hood. There
are some incredibly dysfunctional white-collar families in the
'burbs nowadays, and I know one is right down the street.
I have no doubt that spoiled, latch-key sociopaths think
this is hilarious fun.

Regardless of the motive, surveilance cameras with a
digital recorder system are on order and will be installed
soon. Certainly before the Saturn gets parked in the
driveway again. ;) With motion-triggered recording, I'll get
some idea of who's walking/driving the streets at night.

Oh well.... at least the beer in the cooler didn't get messed up !

The wife and I did some fishing Saturday, took a ride in the country too.
