I am going to order this DAC this week. My long-term plan is to have it modded by Steve at Empirical Audio, and add his Off-Ramp I2S, and eventually the Pace-Car re-clocker. (That is if I can fight the urge to buy his Formula One DAC he is currently working on designing).
Short term, I will probably use the M-Audio Transit as the "in-between". I will also dust off my old Sony ES changer and hook it up to use in the mean-time as I decide on the PC platform (laptop vs. custom build).
I know, it may seem odd that I would buy a DAC before I even have speakers or a real source to plug into it....but its a good deal, and I will need it eventually. I am working on speakers right now....put in some ideas to Sean at Zu about custom paint-work....should get some details this week.
