Do I need a subwoofer with Summits

I am thinking of using Summits for the front channels in a home theater. For that kind of set up do I need a separate subwoofer or the built in sub in the Summits will do? Your advice greatly appreciated.

I would use a separate subwoofer to take advantage of the LFE of the 5.1 and 6.1 audio.

I would run the Summits full range and use a depth or descent for the .1 channel. Depending what speakers your using for a center and surrounds you may need to cross over your small speakers to a sub anyway.
