Was starting to make a short list of preamps to replace my stellar but aging Premier 16LS2. I had listened to the Mac 2700 and was considering the C22. I was loaned the Backert and was very impressed. Took control of the system, big soundstage with distinctly placed instruments, articulate but not fatiguing. It was brand new and after 2 days sounded even better. I was not returning it and have been thoroughly enjoying it. No bells and whistles, volume only remote but all I need. I think the Premier was holding back the 11A's because they are singing now. Happy holidays to everyone.
