Here's a spec question I need some help understanding.

One spec says Svideo at 6MHZ.

Another spec says Svideo at 150MHZ.

What is the difference in that spec in terms of picture quality? I thought an svideo connection was.......an svideo connection with resulting image quality. etc.

I am asking this because this new preamp I have has really soft svideo showing up on my PJ when running through it and I am looking at a switchbox to run video through to bypass it. (Which specs 150MHz.)

Right now I am switching cables back and forth to the PJ and that is getting old fast. Tks

I'd believe the 6Mhz. S-video is simply baseband video (e.g. composite video) with the luminance and chroma signals separated into two signals, running at standard TV definition 480i/576i. The switcher may be rated up to 150Mhz, but that doesn't mean an actual S-video signal will consume that rate.
