Anyone hear the helos yet? Are they "good enough" for rears in a summit based 5.1 setup? I've been thinking of adding to my summits with a descent i and stage. I was going to use my clarities for rears, but they're a pretty awkward fit in the room. How would the helos stand up? I know they won't...

If you can't get towers, scripts are a great choice. They sounded almost as good as my clarities. They are true electrostats. Placement is still not as ideal on the wall compared to towers.

I agree with roberto on the NAC. My clarities sounded way better with the NACs turned off. There is a button you can press next to the NAC to enable/disable them, if you hadn't tried that yet.

Oh I can say the transporter sounds WAY better than the SB3 with no dac in my setup. That is the one test I could run, and its night and day. I tried this with RCA vs RCA. Also, I think the balanced sounds better than the RCA in the transporter as well. I also have better balanced cables vs RCA...

Yep! Its basically the same. It looks like brushed aluminum. I really like the look a lot. Its not cheap gray plastic like the SB3. Mmmm.. I have money burning a hole in my pocket, but its all falling into a reef tank at the moment! But man sleepy, why did you have to show me that? :)

I have a transporter. If I could do it over, I'd get a SB3 and a good dac. The transporter sounds great IMO. However, its definately a first release. It has issues, especially with the optical in.

Oh, my only complaint is the remote on the 280p is a piece of crap. But, it does have a working remote. Its just very "lightly" built.

I have the 2250/280p combo driving my summits and it sounds absolutely fantastic.

That is *exactly* what I think is going through the heads in Kansas! Your average consumer isn't going to worry about amps, etc, etc. They want, even expect, their cheap sony receiver to work fine. As for what's going through my head... A transporter hooked up directly to a pair of these. :)

No way this is the clarity replacement. That's been code-named the "source" iirc. This one has powered woofers and panel!!! Gonna be wayyy out of the clarity price range. This has got to be something up there along the vista area. It also looks like it has the same panel as the vista/vantage.

I think the summits are starting to sound a lot better. I'm no audio reviewer, so let me just describe the sound as less constipated. ;)
