Sony Blu-Ray question

Hi all
My Sony BDP S-550 randomly activates English subtitles, at the beginning of the movie, be it on BD or DVD discs. It's easy enough to access the subtitle menu and defeat it, but is there a way to lock it out entirely? I looked at the owner's manual, but there's nothing there.

You must have gotten one of the Sony BDP S-550 HI models for the Hearing Impaired. Those things are worth a mint on e-bay.

Just checked it. No "HI" sub-designation on it. More's the puzzlement......
No biggie in the end.... just another button to push when it happens!
