Martin Logan Sequence 2 placement problem or is one of them bad?

I bought ML Seq 2 and when trying them out, I get the feeling that one them are playing "louder" than the other. I get the feeling that the music is played by one of the monitors, the sound picture is skewed, but when going up to the other monitor it is emitting sound. Using balance and giving more power to the low sounding monitor I can get the sound picture to move to the middle.

Would this be placement problem or can it be that one of the monitors release less sound because it is old?

I had that on my old Prodigy panels. One was several dB higher than the other.

Have a close up look at the panels and see how dirty they are. It seems these have problems with dirt and grime buildup on the panels after years of use.

I don't know how old those panels might be, but that's how mine aged on my oooooold Aerius speakers. I bought new panels for them from ML, and they sound great now...
