I am new to this forum, have had M-L home theatre for a couple of years (Aerius fronts, Sequel II rears, Theatre Center, Velodyne DD15 sub). Have been limping a bit with Marantz SR 9300 Receiver (not able to hold its own with all the 2 ohm speakers at more than conversational volume), am in process of upgrading. Beyond that I am looking into room treatments as my room is somewhat lively but complex to treat--it is not a "dedicated home theatre" but an ordinary multi-purpose room with various open rooms attached. Any experience out there with room treatments for rooms with decent dimensions but completely asymmetrical walls and reflectivity? I am puzzled as how to even begin to think about the problem.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

A good start would be if you posted a diagram of the plan of your room, indicating where the components and speakers are, and the various open attached rooms.
