I am looking to preamp a home built amp. The problem I am finding is that it has FOUR channels which bi-amp my Ascent i speakers.

Is there a modest tube preamp out there capable of meeting these needs?

I am willing to go used and $300 is a ballpark...I can go a little higher.

Thanks,
Dominick

Use any 2 channel pre and put "Y" connectors on the outputs. There are many tube preamps on audiogon in your price range. A Dyna PAS or Van
Alstyne SuperPas come to mind. You can also find kits if you're willing to do some google-work and build one yourself.

If you like to build, the Bottlehead is an excellent pre, if not, save a few more buck's and take a look at the YS Audio line, they are a very affordable, and perform well. I have the YS Audio/Audio Experiance Symphonies V2R. Its a very nice tube pre uses Electro-Harmonix tubes, and is built well. There are a few tweak article's available that amke it that much more fun.

Good Luck DH
