Could this be the Holy Grail of A/V processors?

That amp reminds me of the insides of the modular Theta Casa's! That is one awesome looking set up all the way around. I have seen it pictured somewhere before...maybe on this site or in an A/V mag...

I find myself still drooling.......

Nice, I can now recommend a processor other than Meridian to people. This one combines the highly regarded SO HQV video processor, so it should trully make for a one-box solution to source selection and processing.

I really dig the use of Balanced pre-outs. Required for me to even consider a piece.

If it also supports fully customizable Audyssey processing, then it really is worth the entrance fee.

I'd still stick with Sunfire for the amplification, but this thing looks good as a front-end.

My thinking exactly, I only want this to replace my Sunfire TGIII. The Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature amp I have is definitely staying;)

Interesting that you mention Meridian, as their 861 is one I was seriously considering. But when I realized that it doesn't offer HDMI 1.3 inputs, Dolby TrueHD, Dts HD, Dts HD Master Audio as options, I decided it wasn't for me.

This Denon has everything I currently need or will need in the future and then some. This unit has got me drooling. And I'm with you, knowing that it offers balanced outs and even has balanced XLR digital inputs is very cool.

When this thing comes out I'm getting me one.

With all of that processing power and video switching in one chassis, I wonder how well the audio section is isolated from the inherent noise....?

That looks ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. That being said, I wish it was black.

Just found out how much this thing weighs, a hefty 60 lbs! For everything that it has going on inside I can see why. I can't wait to get one of these!

Seth,
where did you find the info on this? What is its name or designation so we can poke around on the net and find more info?

Tom.

I had an old school 4802 with my first Logans and to be honest it sounded much better (IMO) than the B&K 307 I replaced it with. It also seemed to power them much better. The 3805 I had wasn't in the same ballgame though. Nice to see Denon coming back to the higher end.

I currently have a 4800 and really have been pleased with it. I had older Denon stuff from the 80s that was really nice too, so I too am glad that they're getting back to doing high end stuff again.

The A/V processor is the AVP-A1HD and the matching amp is the POA-A1HD. I found some of the info here:

Page loads slowly on this first one, so be patient. ;)

I updated the Denon AVP-A1HD info (new additions in bold). Here's some other photos of this beast.:)
