Ouch - spill the beans or at least a link.

I have a Chinese preamp (Consonance) which has operated flawlessly for five years.

I know personally of a couple of importers of other goods who will not deal with the Chinese having been stung by high quality samples and low quality product.

let me guess... everything is coated with lead paint??? :)

Reminds me of a Soundstage preamp I bought a couple years ago. The "massive" transformer was only a facade for much smaller one inside an empty shell of a large transformer.
Keep your eye out for this deceiving unit:

Hummed more than a hummingbird and super cheap parts throughout.
The words Sound and Stage had no right be be used with this product unless the suffix "less" was added to each.
