Hello, i was interested in getting your opinions on whether to leave my system turned on and warmed up, or turn it on and off. I listen to music most days. If i am away from the house for more than a day i will shut it down. Are there any advantages/disadvantages. If left on does this increase the chance of any surge damage. I have surge protection. Also power usage when left on..............My system consists of ...Electra Reference Amp..Pre amp...Dac....Rotel C.D.,....Ascenti & Descent. I am a bit of a newby so take it easy on me......Regards jonnyb.

Leave on if possible

If possible, leave it on in 'standby' mode. If you can't do this, let it warm up for a while (20 - 30 minutes) before any serious listening!

Cheers,

David

Solid State Amps - on all the time.

Any other equipment that I have with Standby mode are put in Standby mode.
