Has anyone listened to Tannoy Gold 8? or smaller driver size Gold 7 or Gold 5?

Please i need a statement based on concrete listening evidence whether i should keep them or persist trying to sell them.

I recently acquired JBL series 1 professional passive compact speakers. Price 200 dollars pair.

To my ears their sonics are outstanding. Punch far above their weight class.

No coloration in sound, balanced, understated treble, warm and at least to my ears high caliber low frequency sonics. Set up the following system in our chefs bedroom to listen to. I may decide at unspecified future date to take it back from him.

My chef music system comprises:

JBL Control 1 Pro passive monitors. Max power handling 150w.
Year 2012 EISA award winner Denon 1510 anniversary edition intg. amp. Max 140w.
Arylic Preamp BP 50.
InAkustic loudspeaker cable and RCA interconnect.
Apple iPad playing Spotify connected via Bluetooth to Arylic preamplifier.
Stabimatic 1KVA voltage regulator.

The pleasure i derived from listening to them was far greater than Bower and Wilkins 6 series bookshelf or Kef Q300 and even ML Motion 15. They are not active and therefore require external amplifier. Recently bought matching loudspeaker stands and granite shelf.

Why don't you open up the Tannoy's and compare them?

First Tannoy’s are in New York. And I am in Karachi. Due to being halfway across the world I won’t be able to judge the sonics. And the person with whom they are kept is a poor judge of sonics. Not at all interested in listening to music and does not care for music equipment either.

I hesitate to open them since they will lose market value and i will lose concrete evidence, they are brand new and have never been in operation.

No electronic item other than iPhone and iPad to analyze them with.

Will open if someone has true intent to buy and will force audition. May be able to deliver inside usa though at extra buyer expense.
