Just what you need! Another thread on the 2008 RMAF!!
First up are the German Physiks speakers (HRS 120) -- that's Steve sitting up front. I wasn't blown away by these - but they sure look cool
And before I post more pictures, let me add a few thoughts about the RMAF.
First off, what Tim and I are posting here represents less than HALF of the products and equipment on display at this show. There were something like 160+ rooms at this event spread over 2 hotels. So these posts are just a small sample of what was available.
Secondly (and Dave aka Twich54 will you tell you this too) most of this stuff all blended together after awhile. This industry had made tremendous strides in recent years. Lots of the dealers were presenting gear with top flight amps and pre-amps (awesome CD players as well). It was really, really tough to make accurate judgments after a 5-10 minute session in a A) small and untreated hotel room and B) source material that you didn't care for. Now, some rooms were treated with a few panels here and there. Other exhibitors rented out the larger conference rooms/suites. MBL, for example, had stuff in several rooms and their bigger speakers were in a very wide space.
Having said all of that - it was a lot of fun!!! Tim (and others in the midwest) should count their blessings that such an event is in their backyard!
