I received and installed a new set of panels for my model Aerius I speakers during the weekend. After I installed the first panel, I noticed that the black bars running across the width of the panel were missing, so I guess I got to take advantage of some of ML's newer technology. My speakers now have the clear spars, so the visual effect is different. Initially I had some trouble getting the rails off, but the rest of the install was easier than I thought. I wonder if I also received the newer membrane material...
I have great sound again and am really happy to have ordered new panels.
The air and ambience has returned as well as an increase in clairity.
I noted that on one of my old panels, the left-side glue strip had become unglued (or unstuck) so that all down the left side of the panel there was a gap. That was probably why my left speaker sounded weak.
Anyway, new panels are a great easy mod even for the technically challenged.
