Newbie - New Home - Need help

Hello All,

About to move into our new home. Here is my situation.

Below is what I got for my HT until now.

ML Passage Speakers In-Wall (3) - F/L, F/R, and Center.
ML Helos 10 In-Ceiling (4) - Surround Speakers

I still have to get a Sub and a receiver. Looking for your recommendations here. I am on a very tight budget. I was able to afford the above ML speakers during the Tweeter closeout.

I don't know much about this stuff. Started reading after my visits to Tweeter. So any help is much appreciated.

For receiver I am considering Pioneer 1018. Comments / Alternatives?

From my own experience, I would recommend the Denon line of receivers (I have owned the 2807 and 3808 AVRs). Many here do like the Pioneer line as-well.

I currenlty have the Dynamo subwoofer in my system and it performs quite well. This little box can be had for about $350-$400 and is solid in this price range. Also, you can check out svssound.com for great subwoofers that don't cost a whole lot of money.

If you want to give any more details we can give you more suggestions.

I can think of a few questions that will "help us help you"

How much budget do you have for a sub and receiver?

How big is your room?

What other components and TV do you have or plan to add later?

The Denon 1909 (or 789) would be in the same price range as the Pioneer you mentioned.
