Hello all! I currently have been working as a home theater specialist for the past year. During the past couple of months I’ve educated myself greatly about audio and other things related to home theater. I have just recently purchased the MartinLogan Encore TF center channel and from what I can say I am very pleased with not only the build quality but also the fantastic sound quality. I am currently running a 5.1 set up with Klipsch towers as well as rears powered by a Pioneer Elite SC-05 receiver. I hope to get some electrostats as time goes on. So I figured I'd join the site to connect with other audio enthusiasts. I would very much know other members opinions on the Encore center, thanks! :music:

Hi,welcome, you will enjoy being a member here in this club, as those guys in the back are really helping. How do you like your sc-05 ? Currently i am using a sc-07 for my 5.1 system. With Purity for the front, Cinema i center and Fresco i for rear, Dynamo Sub. Bought a pair CLS recently for no reason but got a lot of info from those helpful guys here about how to pair them with some powerful gears. Very enjoy with them.

Two channel music with the CLS is great experience. At the moment, i am just using SC-07, but decided to buy a Mcintosh MC275 to pair with them from a local private party this week.

Have not really touch the Encore center, but seen them at local store, no idea about them. Good luck here!

Thanks for the welcome. I like the SC-05 a lot actually, I purchased it a few months ago as an upgrade from my Pioneer 1018 and its been an excellent overall receiver with plenty of power. I was initially afraid to run the ML Encore center due to it being 4 ohms but apparently the SC-05 drives it just fine. I watched Goldeneye on DVD yesterday with the Encore center. I can definitely say its a huge step up from my old Klipsch Icon V center channel. What I notice most is the enormous clarity of the sound!!! Definitely well worth the purchase

At first i was thinking my sc-07 is capable of driving them. So i bought them from a private party. But realized that i needed to turn up the volume to almost 3/4 to have an acceptable soundstage feel. Even i use the pre-out and pair with Caver Power-amp, the sound is still so flat and no life. However, when i pair them with a DIY tube Pre + Caver Power, Jack johnson is just standing singing in front of you. A huge differences on soundstage and transparent. Even a none audiophile can tell the difference. I was only turn up the volume to 1/3 and the whole new world of music enjoyment.
