    Which ML Center?

Just an update, I ended up going with a Cinema i, black oak finish. The pictures of the speaker reveal a perfect condition. I should be getting it late next week or early the week after. I spent quite a few hours looking at tv stands which would accommodate a center like this plus my 50"...

    Which ML Center?

Thanks for all the advice gents. I'm finding it hard to decide between buying a Cinema or Cinema i for around $550/$600 used or pulling the trigger on a new Matinee for a around $1k. I'm struggling to determine if the extra $500 is worth it for something newer. If I could find a used Theatre...

    Which ML Center?

Good Evening! I am looking at some listings for used ML centers. I've seen that the Cinema and other older models can be had for $500-600. Is there a huge difference between these older models and a new model such as the Motif? I currently have a Polk center. It sounds pretty...

    System #438 (Source)

Here are some pics of the bass shaker installation. I've got to finish wrapping my "end table" and buy a better LFE cable. Right now I'm making due with some standard RCAs. Here is what everything looks like tucked away neatly:

    System #438 (Source)

Thanks for the comments! I've tried to move the speakers forward a bit and some other configurations. The biggest difference was in how much toe-in I used. The sound stage was a bit strange with them toed in too much. It's one of the fun things about having these; getting to experiment to...

Any other thoughts on this situation? If not, I'll post them in classifieds.

    Value of damaged source

I have thought about making this a center channel, but didn't think it was possible. I wonder how this speaker would perform in a horizontal placement? I only have two options. My room is 10X11 which is quite small with relatively low ceilings being in an old basement. I could place it...

    Value of damaged source

I'm trying to gauge the value of one damaged Source speaker. Can anyone offer some advice as to the value? I attached pictures of the speaker; sorry they look like hell. Our basement is getting remodeled so I had to take pictures of this speaker inside the junk closet. Here is the story...

    Hello from Wausau, WI

This hobby is dangerous. Just pulled the trigger on a Emotiva XPA-5. Thought I would give my Sony receiver a break. This should hold me over until I get monoblocks (probably a few years down the road). Also, got a really good deal on a Panamax 5300PM. I think they shipped me a free bottle...

    new guy

Welcome! I just got my first pair of MLs as well (Source). I've been researching an amp upgrade as well. Emotiva seems like a great bang for the buck choice. I've been looking at the xpa-5, but I've looked at the two channel units and read reviews that sound promising. Might be worth a look.

    Hello from Wausau, WI

Good Evening. My name is Tristan. I live in Wausau, WI with my wife Danielle and our dog Mauser. I've been serious about music my whole life. I started playing piano when I was 10 and guitar when I was 16 and play in two rock bands. I've always had my finger in high-end audio equipment, but...
