Anyone use GLS Audio locking banana plugs?

They've lost their spring/holding force. They're probably OK enough, but my cables are pretty heavy, and I'd just prefer to have a more robust connection (one that I don't have to worry/wonder about).

Anyone use GLS Audio locking banana plugs?

I found these online. http://www.speakerrepair.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BL20&Category_Code=a-dz_new_itmes They look decent, but I was was wondering if anyone has any experience with them or with similar items. I'm looking to re-terminate my speaker cables (old...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

It's up & running now; very nice. Thanks for the push to pursue the separates. It wasn't too difficult to fit them in, definitely worth it. To be fair, these components didn't originally fit my budget, but my local dealer was clearing them out ($2,898 for the pair - brand new, in sealed...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

Probably should have mentioned that, especially on this site. You'll likely be surprised that I don't have electrostats at all, at least not right now. I'm actually running planar, ribbon-type speakers in the front (Mosaics and a Fresco) with old Boston A60's in the rear. I'm quite happy with...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

I think it's official; after all of this I've gone with separates. I'll actually take possession next week, but I now own an Adcom GTP-880 preamp/processor and GFA=7607 7x125 amp. I don't have a need for channels 6 and 7, but may soon (it's a slippery slope). I'll need to start the search...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

Thanks for all the input, within days (maybe weeks) of making a purchase. In the last few days, I think I've discovered that separates may indeed work (moving some equipment, possibly remote-mounting the amp - a few feet out of the way, there's minimal need to interface with this component...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

Thanks for all the advice, still haven't made the plunge; still listening to the NAD T763. Not a bad receiver at all, but definitely looking to upgrade soon. Still no comments on the new Adcom unit (GFR700/GFR700HD); I guess not too many people running them/experienced with them yet. It looks...

    Your first gear.

I got my first real equipment (a separate component, anyways) as a gift in the early-mid 80's. I remember that it was a Magnavox single CD player, with an orange seven-segment LED display, don't recall the model number. Soon after that, I sold the Magnavox to a friend and upgraded to a Pioneer...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

Thanks Thanks for the info. Too bad about the cabinet; not sure there's a peaceful resolution to that one (at least now - maybe in a few years, to facilitate an upgrade to separates). It looks like Denon, Classe, Arcam & Sunfire have received positive reviews, Pioneer = some good/some bad...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

To respond to twitch54, I'm definitely concerned about 2 channel and music in general (in addition to HT). I realize that separates will nearly always outperform receivers, but I've got a space limitation. The wife bought a cabinet (while I was away on business) which can accomodate most any...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

Thanks for the info Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Still haven't made a decision/still looking. One model I found in my search is the new Adcom receiver, GFR700/GFR700HD. Any experience with/opinion of this model & how it compares to the high-end Denon/Rotel/NAD/Arcam/Sunfire/Pioneer...

    Best value in $2750-$3500 A/V receiver/separates

Much like the CD Player thread, I'm looking for opinions on: A/V receivers and/or multi-channel pre-amp/amp combos in the $2750-$3500 range. Obviously looking for components that sound particularly good with MLs. Go Pats!!

What is Martin Logan's current policy regarding discounts?

Bought mine @ 15% off I got my Mosaics & Fresco for $850 each (15% off) at Tweeter. Some time after I bought, Tweeter stopped carrying the line and discounted them further (to $650ish).

Vignette or Fresco Anyone ? Your thoughts are welcomed !

If you're in the northeast, you shouldn't have any trouble doing a comparison of Mosaic vs Clarity & Fresco vs Vignette. Tweeter typically has every one of these out on the floor & usually in the same room.

Where are my MLs coming from?...

I disagree with the speculation that every electronic company is looking to China to maximize profits. That's quite simply not true. While many electronic products are produced offshore, these are typically of a lower-price, lower-quality, lower technical complexity competing in a market...

Where are my MLs coming from?...

I'm surprised too. I'm surprised to hear that your speakers (and mine too) were made in Asia. I just looked at my speakers and there's no indication of where they were built. There's a US address listed on the speaker, but no country of origin. Upon checking the boxes, I noticed that the...

Anyone listen to the Mosaic or Montage yet?

I've listened to the Mosaics - very nice. I've owned the Mosaics and Fresco for nearly a year now and I enjoy them more every day. I auditioned the ATF speakers against a number of 'box' speakers - Boston VRM's, Polk, Mirage, Sonus Faber & Vienna Acoustics as well as the ML Clarity. IMHO, the...
