Try some Jadis. Works very fine with ML. Amp works in class A, means warm sound but with enough "slam". My Ascent's are driven with Jadis DA50S (KT88) and I enjoy it much (Classic-baroc and jazz) especially female voices... Chris

One thing to consider is the input level you feed your Krell. I'm using the cyrus Cdxt connected on Benchmark Dac1. The Dac1 can be set on different levels very easily. I can't listen more than 60 or 80 on the dial of the Kav400 with my ascent's, sound pressure is high enough:o ! Best regards...

Basalt Robin, I use the spike feet too! They sit on small metal washers. Under these washers I put a piece of lead so there is a good contact with the stone :) . I did'nt even try without the spikes :o so cann't tell if there is a difference with or without the spike... May be I try some day...

Ascent's Robin, Ascent's are on basalt, sort of volcanic stone, very dense ( 1.20 inch thick). I put some feet under made of silicon so it brings good isolation from the floor. Bass is clear and "tight" :) . Cheers, Chris
