Is tilting useful on the larger speakers?

It's the opposite: the bass sounds clearer and bigger when I'm somewhere between sitting and standing position. Of course, similar happens when I move closer to the speakers, but the closer I get, the less great the overall imaging is.

Is tilting useful on the larger speakers?

I find with my Summits that with my average-height chair, I lose some of the bass information I get when I prop myself up. Perhaps if I had a high chair (ha!) or was really, really tall, I'd be at the perfect height for optimum bass. Have other owners noticed this and what did they do about it...

    Panel rattle

One of my Summits has developed a rattle on the lower part of the panel. It's only evident when quite loud and on when certain frequencies are manifested. That is, songs that have louder-than-average mid-to-low range sounds. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, and is there a way to...

    Technics digital amps

Thanks DanR. Regarding the "pure digital" claim, Steve Guttenberg talks about it in his YouTube review, which I linked. And the claim that the new Technics amp range isn't Class D is widely circulated on the internet, but I don't understand the technical stuff. This quote from Home Theatre HiFi...

    Technics digital amps

Has anyone heard the SU-G700M2 amp or any of Technics' recent "pure digital" amps with MLs? These are not Class D or solid state but apparently a different technology. And would a 70 watt amp of any description have enough power to drive a pair of Summits? Here's Steve Guttenberg raving about...

    Pernickety panel problem - ideas?

Good point! I do like cranking up the volume sometimes and those Summit woofers can certainly "move air". I'm a bit scared to play the particular track I was listening to when the speaker stopped working. Which is a bit annoying. There's nothing worse than having to turn the volume down when you...

    Pernickety panel problem - ideas?

I ended up taking my ML Summit to a service technician, who found a loose wire that he reckons was most likely not connected properly in the factory. So I don't need a new power supply after all - at least the one I imported will be good for a rainy day, as they say! I'm so lucky to have found a...

    Pernickety panel problem - ideas?

In my case, the panel has stopped working entirely. The powered bass is still working.

    Pernickety panel problem - ideas?

I must not have explained quite clearly before. I've already switched the cables around AT THE AMP and it's the same (left) speaker that doesn't work... the panels, that is. So I'm picking that what you write about loose internal wiring might be right. Thank you both for your good advice.

    Pernickety panel problem - ideas?

The amp is an AVM Evolution SA3.2. There's not much about this model online (in English, anyway) but it's a cracking good power amp. I must not have explained quite clearly before. I've already switched the cables around AT THE AMP and it's the same (left) speaker that doesn't work... the...

    Pernickety panel problem - ideas?

A few months back when I was playing a CD with lovely deep bass fairly loud (but not TOO loud) on my Summits, the left panel stopped working. I got advice from ML and with the help of the good wife (who has better eyes than me) we figured out how to remove the panel and swap it over to the other...

    Senseless

Is America so introverted that it can't look at the way other countries successfully control gun deaths and take a leaf from their actions? Well, of course not. I have many American friends who realise that effective gun control would reduce if not totally eliminate this type of shooting...

    Summit Panel Not Working

The little power light near the bottom of the speaker is still on, and still green. I'm completely in the dark as to how to approach this problem.
