Opinion of using the Emotiva XPA-DR1 to power a Martin Logan Focus Center Channel speaker

I have 3 emotiva HC-1 monoblocks running my LCR (ESL9 and c18). I’m very happy with them, and never had any issues even when I go close to reference level volume I bought them over DR-1 because this is what Emotiva told me: “I would recommend the HC-1's over the DR2 for one primary reason. The...

    Near Field Subs = 😎

Hello, This post from Avsforum member (SBuger) might be helpful for youll He posted June 13, 2015…. “Another thing is, since its so close (and my LP is not near a wall, its not boomy at all). Its so fast, clean (non boomy/bloated), and hits hard. Even though there is no room gain at all, it...

    Near Field Subs = 😎

Hello, I’m also learning daily about all these stuff lol Bass shouldn’t be “heard” but rather be “felt”. If you can hear one sub over another sub or subs, then it means that sub is “localized”. Lots of factors are in play such as distance/time align/delay/phase/etc. Also, If one sub has more...

    Near Field Subs = 😎

What calibration system did you use? Also, all 3 subs hit you at the same time? And the one closer to you, just sounds louder? Maybe you can just decrease the gain on it, and see what happens. The thing with subs, you shouldn’t “hear” they. They shouldn’t be localized.

    Near Field Subs = 😎

Were you able to figure out why it’s getting muddy while you daisy chained the subs?

    Near Field Subs = 😎

Yes sir, Marantz SR6012 has sub EQ HT. One sub output of the AVR I used a y-splitter for the far field subs and the other output has y-splitter for the near field subs. That’s why I think, with the 4 subs, they work together very decently. I know it will not be as good compared to using...

    Near Field Subs = 😎

I recently upgraded my old pair of sealed 12” subs (Atlantic Technology 642eSB) with a pair of SVS SB16 ultras. I was planning to sell the old subs, but I ended up trying “near field” set-up for them instead. I’m glad I did, because now, the 5.4 system - only calibrated by audyssey xt32, the...

Dedicated 20amp circuit, whole house SPD & SurgeX!

Our basement is unfinished so it was pretty easy fir the master electrician to run the wire from panel to the HT side of the house. Charged me $150 for parts & labor :)

Dedicated 20amp circuit, whole house SPD & SurgeX!

My electrician finally installed a dedicated 20amp circuit for my HT! He also installed whole house surge protection (Eaton CHSPT2ULTRA). I also upgraded my APC H15 power conditioner with a pair of SurgeX SX-1115-RT. With my whole house surge protection, and pair of Surgex, my HT is pretty...

    Center channel vs LR channels?

I just ordered 3 of these power meters from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09NM8ZQKG?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image I’ll watch a couple of movies back to back at fairly loud volume, and I’ll try to find out which amp consumed the most electricity

    Center channel vs LR channels?

yeah about 80% of the info goes to the center. But I also thought…..more bass = more juice needed from an amp. My classic 9 has dual 8” woofers plus it has bigger panel size. So the electrostatic panel dips down to .8 ohm which also put load to the amp With those 2 things mentioned, I’m...

    Center channel vs LR channels?

thank you! I just want the amps to last as long as possible by not getting hot :)

    Center channel vs LR channels?

I have 3 monoblocks, each running my LCR (c18 and classic 9). When watching movies & TV shows, which one “stresses” an amp or make it warmer……the center channel or the LR channels? The reason I’m asking is so I can place the amp working the hardest in the middle where I’ll place my AC infinity...
