Thanks again for all your help Roberto!
I have an Apogee Duet DAC, Hafler Amp, and older Denon reciever. The receiver has analog surround inputs and preouts so I plan on connecting the DAC to the L/R inputs then the L/R outputs to the Hafler. This way I can keep the DAC at full volume. I will...
Thanks one again Roberto!
So to verify I can connect the sub and the speakers to the same binding posts on my amp? If I leave the volume all the way up on my DAC then I assume this is when you want also want a pre amp to control the volume? I suppose I could run through a older receiver I have...
Thanks for the input Roberto!
My DAC does have a volume control but if I understand you correctly this would still be problematic when splitting the RCA out? If I use the Dynamo 300 then I can run another set of speaker wire out from the same binding posts the speaker wire for the ESL is...
Thanks for the info Roberto! My amp doesn't have a sub out so if I split the audio output from my DAC will I be losing out any sound? If I go with a passive sub will I be losing our on a lot of power before it gets to the speakers? Thanks again!
It is my understanding the all electrostatic speakers aren't very efficient and that just has to do with the technology. While the ESL spec sheet does note the nominal speaker impedance is 6 Ohms it also notes it they go as low as 1.6 Ohms @ 20 kHz. The spec sheet also recommends up to 300 watts...
Thanks for your input amey01!
I would hope this amp drives the ElectroMotion ESLs pretty well
overall considering it is higher end and a
a couple different ML sales reps told me that any amp/receiver rated at 100 watts at 8 ohms would drive them fine even without a 6 ohm rating. I understand...
I have a Hafler Pro 505 amp rated at 255 watts at 8 ohms and 400 watts at 4 ohms and plan on purchasing the ElectroMotion ESL speakers. Will I lose out on any sound because this amp doesn't provide any specs for 2 ohms? Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks!
