I know I made a thread similar to this about 2 or 3 years ago and it was pretty popular among the MLO folk mainly because a lot of members here have some pretty watches. I still recall Tom (TomDac) having the Omega that I liked and Cherian has more than one Breitling (before I even knew what Breitling was). A bunch of others like Pops have the Rolex GMT.

It seems from the "What are your hobbies" thread that there's a high interest in watches so I figured I'd just make a thread for it.

Use this thread as a dumping ground for pics of your old collection, your current collection and your future collection. Don't be shy to post your "must have" watch or a "grail" watch (a watch that you drool over that you may or may not afford).

Joey:D:devil:

Actually Joey it's the 'GMT Master' (aka 'Chuck Yeager' watch), it's no longer in production so it's kind a special.

Ah yes... the master once again teaches the grasshopper! You like how I'm keeping distance between our post counts? I know soon I'll become dormant again and you'll wipe the floor with me.

Thanks pops!

You are the hombre.

OK Joey....you made me open up the safe for this one........my Grandfather was a Jewler / Watchmaker so I'm fortunate to have acquired quite a few pocket watches for my collection (about fifteen, 10 of which are in perfect working order)

My pride and joy........ My Appleton Tracy, ie 'American Watch company' morphed into Waltham, full 'hunting case', a 15 jewel movement, solid 14karat gold. it dates back to around 1900

The (4) good watches I own.

1) Breitling Super avenger at 48mm it is the biggest watch I own.

2) Breitling Airwolf this is my everyday watch

3) Rolex Submariner 50th anniversary. Because I always wanted to own a Rolex ok and because I turn 40 this year.

4) Rado Ceramica when I dress up.

5) I have my eye on a nice Bell & Ross (Maybe when I turn 50 lol).

I have a thing for nice watches it is my guilty pleasure. God I am such a nerd.

Cher -

That BR watch is to die for.... I was eyeing a BR03-92 Phantom... and I found one that wasn't too bad of a price. Maybe for you?

I can't swing it now, I'm saving for something big.

Probably worth a lotta money, Dave... and on top of the sentimental value you have for it as well. Very nice heirloom, my friend!

Ok Joey spill it what are you saving for?

For everyday wear (on my wrist), a Maurice Lacroix Tiago

For other times, Oris Artelier Chrono

.....and for exceptionally special occasions, the Patek Philippe.

Dang... bust out the big guns!! That's what I'm talking about! You got better pics of the beauty?

It's exceptionally hard to photograph because of the white dial. The black dials were easier. That is the best of about 10 I took. I'll try to post a higher-res one if MLOC will allow!

Saving up for a Panerai 270 or 275, an Audemar Piguet Royal Oak, or a Patek Aquanaut. Don't know how long it'll take me...

You should... that watch is so nice.

My self, I only wear Bell&Ross and Sinn watches. I like them because nobody has them and their styling is right up my alley.

Yo Dennis!!

Post some pics man! Would love to get into B&R watches someday.

Here are some of mine, I took new pics.

Panerai 312 > Rolex Milgauss GV (green crystal) > Rolex Submariner (left to right).

I like them because nobody has them

Rightly or wrongly, that's one of the main reason why I choose the watches I do. And the reason why I would never have a Tag Heuer, Rolex, Rado, et al.

I refuse to pay that much money for something every second person has.

Some more of my Milgauss GV... love this unique Rolex. Green crystal, lightning second hand. Love it.

I would normally agree. Only thing is, the resale market for JLC, AP, B&R is nothing like a Rolex. The Rolex resale market is superb... and it's a great place to stash cash.

Grab a SS Daytona and you can sell it for the exact same amount (or even a markup of $500) on the resale market/forums.

Buy a JLC Reverso, AP ROO, or even a Patek and you lose 40% immediately. Check the resale on B&R watches, they go from a retail of $5K to resale of low $2K used.
