I've been looking at a Helios X5000 Media <a href="http://www.helios-labs.com/us/products/X5000/x5000_overview.shtml">server</a> instead of a Squeezebox. The things I like about it is that it is a more versatile component (it plays video files as well) than a SB plus it connects to your TV so you can browse graphically for music, pictures, videos, etc. It's supported by open source software like the SB, so it should have good growth capability. It looks more like an audio component and appears to be well made. It says the DACS are Wolfson 24bit/96kHz and Burr-Brown op-amps.
Does anyone have one of these? Can somebody comment as to the quality of the DAC? I've never heard of Wolfson. Will it compare to a SB? I went through the pain of ripping my whole CD collection to FLAC. Now I need to get something so I can start listening.
