Hi!

Can someone tell me if the Aerius generally sound better using passive bi-amping?

Thank you.

Regards.

while I not directly tried an Aerius with bi-amping, I can generalize from my experience with Monoliths, Sequels and SL3s and state that in general, yes bi-amping will improve the results.

The main reason is that separating the demanding load of the panel from the woofer lets the woofer amp deliver power unaffected by the loads imposed by the ESL. If using a good quality SS amp for the woofer, you'll get the most out it.

For the panel, I usually recommend a good quality amp capable of doubling its output power into every halving of the impedance load (e.g. 100w@8, 200w@4, 400w@2ohms) to get the best out this wonderful transducer.
