Hi to everybody i'm new to this new world of martin logan, i mean not really new, my brother has some aerius with him from years and i get in love with the sound, now i get my new home and a friend of mine offer me some clarity with a fresco center and i bought them, i want to ask you guys some things.

Do you think that with a pioneer Model: VSX-1123-K will move the clarity's ??? I'm planning to listen some moves and some times some music!

I really want to thank you every body for all the advices that can bring to me!

Have a good day

Hello Chuchu. I think that receiver will not do your Clarity's any justice. It looks to be stable to 6 ohms, but I think you will have problems with it clipping at relative low volumes. Also, the sound quality will not be anywhere close to what it should be. There are some very capable AVRs available, but you will be looking at $1000.00 or more just to get something OK. I have a Yamaha RX-A 1010 that is capable of driving my Vistas, but I'm very unimpressed with the relatively hollow sound it produces. I use it as a processor and to power my center channel and rear channels only. I run an integrated amplifier to power the Vistas seperately.

so waht do you think is a good option just to manage my clarity??? i mean something good used!!!??

I think on the cheap then it has to be a pioneer sc 05/25/35 as the ice modules will handle those clarity and give you an experience for movie time. Martin Logan uses those ice modules on their powered speakers so your good to go on the cheap, it wont sound the greatest like a high priced amp but it will be fine for casual listening

How much is your budget? Are you willing to add/have space for a separated power amp? It would be easier for us to give you a recommendation you answer those questions

I'm spending 500 on the receiver and i can spend something close to 500 more i have to buy yet the sub and the rears!

Where i can find a pioneer sc05 for that price ? Do you check the vsx-1123k ?

I used to own a pioneer elite vsx01 thx and it just does not have the potential to provide good clean power to those kind of speakers. Here is a pioneer elite sc07 thats got tons of power and will handle those speakers... its at $500 min bid and $550 buyitnow so talk to the seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Eli...29863?pt=Receivers_Tuners&hash=item2c6e8a7987

If you wana go cheaper then try win this for under $500.. its the sc05 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Eli...16898?pt=Receivers_Tuners&hash=item1e7a0eeb02

Here is the sc25 with free shipping for $550 and thats as good as your going to get http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Eli...77168?pt=Receivers_Tuners&hash=item19dbe197d0

If you want to step up then $600 shipped would be the sc35 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-Eli...90826?pt=Receivers_Tuners&hash=item35c710256a

Don't bother with that 1123k as its dog turd in comparison to these used ones I listed

what about the new models like sc 63 or sc65?? i'm asking that because a best buy near mine has an open box for 450 usd!!!

Well pioneer dropped the ice modules in those AVR's so I dont know its up to you ultimately. I would go for one I mentioned with the ice modules as they can better handle the dips into the 4ohm regions so they will sound better during extreem highs and dynamic passages of a bluray. If you did not have Martin Logan speakers I would be saying go for a sc65 as its got tinsel hanging from it

Its always a good idea to keep the l/r/c speakers running from the same amp so you get a seamless pan in movies, the rotel would work fine
