Tube integrated's and low watt SET tube amps

For stereo only users, on jazz, and classical music, with ML Theos I'm a fan of small watt SET tube amps and KT88 based tube integrated's. With great success I've mated a Shuguang S8MK integrated stocked with upgraded Black Treasure tubes. The below amp is 60 watts. Regarding low watt SET...

    Hello

Try a tube integrated. A 60 watt tube integrated will drive most modern ML's to levels that are more than satisfying for "most" users. They're inexpensive, and plentifully available nowadays.

Logan Lust and Budget Limitations. Used vs New

I bought a 1 year old pair of Theos on ebay for $1800. Deals are out there. Keep your eyes peeled.

BIG news from ML coming out of 2016 CES...

Nice. Looks like a full sub in the bass. But $25k!? I'd opt for used, and depreciated, CLX's and doing my own subs.

Martin Logan Theos driven by a 12 watt SET amp???

The album is one of the best by Eric Alexander. 'the second milestone' Nice to hear that others are going "small" too. Small tube SET amps rule. :) These ears can't handle more than 10 on the preamp volume dial so small is good

    Electromotions maintenance?

There's nothing like covering your 'stats when not in use, especially if you've got western sun exposure...ML provides a cover that works great for covering them...minimizes the frequency one needs to vacuum their speakers. I know it's not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but it does the...

Martin Logan Theos driven by a 12 watt SET amp???

Hi all. We see so many thread questions asking about how much power one needs to drive a pair of Theos effectively. So, after spending two days revamping my room from the short wall to the long wall, big job, I took the liberty of setting up the ML Theos with the following audio chain: Dennis...

    Help clsiiz

Those are the Arcici stands...no longer produced, but they were very popular with CLS' owners at one time...and yes, they did make a difference helping to control frame vibrations as well as getting the panels up off the floor to ear level. I had to sell those when I downsized in retirement and...

    Help clsiiz

CLSiiz's, Small room, no problem! And driven by an 8 watt 300B SET to boot! Okay, with a Plinius SA100Mk3 as a backup. Take heart, you'll survive. I'm permanently downsized. Quit your complaining :)

Theos versus more expensive ML's like Montis or Summit X

I have Theos mated to a Depth i sub. Small 10x13 room. Great synergy. That photo with the Theos barely a foot from the sidewall is also problematic. I'd recommend at least 2.5 - 3 feet from sidewalls. Reconfigure your furniture layout to accommodate the speakers. They're worth it. I've owned...

    New Vistas. New Amp?

Great score on that pair. I've never seen Vista's priced so affordably! I'd put nothing less than a Sunfire amp, 400wpc 4 ohm with the Vista's...affordable and available used everywhere. A Plinius amp would yield "superior" results...but a Sunfire at minimum...no receiver recommendations from...

    CLSii honest opinions from owners

As a former owner of CLSiiZ's I miss them. They were easy to drive, and sounded "best" with Manley's flagship Ref 450 monoblock tube amps mated with a pair of Genesis 900 subs- Okay, it was 1999. I've never had better sound in my system. Solid state amps like a Plinius SA 100 Mkiii was another...

Zero Box Autoformers w/ Theos and PrimaLuna Dialogue HP Tubed Integrated?

These newer ML speakers are not nearly as power hungry to drive as some seem to think. I've owned a Prima Luna 35 watter that drove CLS's to more than adequate listening levels. 15 years ago the Plinius SA100's mated to ML's were all the rave. But at 200 wpc 4 ohm, Class A, was far more overhead...

    Hi from the NORTHWEST!

Haven't been here in years! Okay, less time than I've owned ML's. Bought my first pair in 1988. I've been away from serious stereo listening for nearly 8 years. My listening seem to fade about the time gear acquisition did...at or near the time Audiogon sold or changed. We had a great run for...

What is the BEST ML for your Money?

Not quite that cheap unfortunately. On average SL3's are on A/G for $1200 and Requests are all over the board from $1500 to $2500...those are both pretty well established norms. :musicnote:

    CLS IIz Trim Rails?

one of 8 produced according to ML I own a pair in Rosewood...And to tell you the truth I'd prefer those in black. Who has them for sale? Maybe I can buy them and sell you my second pair of CLS IIz's I have in Oak. Write me if you're serious. Thanks!:musicnote:

Need Advice on a Multichannel Solid State Amp for ML 5.1 System

buy a Sunfire cinema grand a be done with it. You can find these for less than a grand on Ebay and Audiogon. They run cool, and will provide all the power you'll ever need to drive your system. I've used them with fantastic results in an all ML system. I recommend the 5 channel Cinema Grand...

    Which CLS is this?

worth a drive 5 hours is nothing to having the opportunity to inspect them in person. And the money you'll save from not having to ship them in addition to eliminating them being damaged in shipping...it does happen folks! ;)

Carver Lightstar reference and I am freaking out

lightstar nirvana congratulations Cherian! I'm from the Seattle area and not far from the location your amplifier was produced. I've actually owned two of the Reference amplifier's. They're fine amps especially for driving tough loads. I used one to drive my CLS IIz's. Funny story: The first...
