    Just been made redundant.

Matt, I know what you are going through and it sucks. I was in tech support for a very large worldwide company and had been working there for almost 7 years. It was decided in August of 2007 to move the team under a different organization, and that organization decided we were all too...

    Martin Logan Wallpaper for Computer?

TJ, Yeah, I was looking online at the ML site, figuring that that may be the best place to get something. I found some things that may have looked good if they weren't so small. I tried to check out some of the older brochures, and found something that looked really neat, but it was still...

    Martin Logan Wallpaper for Computer?

I've been searching all over for a nice high res closeup pic of some ML stators to use as a nice background pic for my computer, or even on my blackberry. Does anyone have a good one, or could even make one? I have the mosaics, so I don't have stators to take a pic of. -capT

    Huh?....Bose car parts?

Yeah, that's old news. They've been working on that for years. Who knows, maybe it will work better than the stuff they've been coming up lately for speakers etc. The concept looks interesting though... -capT

    Random Picture and Video Thread

Budding Young Audiophile I went to Blockbuster the other day and saw this portrait by Paul DeGruccio, called Pump Up the Volume. Thought it was hilarious! -capT

    Favorite Christmas songs/alblums

I was thinking of starting a thread like this but figured I would check first before I started it. Good thing I did. :-) Thanks Twitch! I must say I have always loved the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas albums. They bring back a lot of fun memories from being a kid. I am not sure about...

    Happy Holidays!

Folks, We have a local weatherman here in Sacramento named Dave Bender who does the 12 "Dave's" of Christmas every year, and does his weather report from someone's house, someone who has just gone to such great lengths to decorate with as many lights and decorations as they can possibly put...

    Who likes PANCAKES.?

mmmm, pancakes.... Makes me miss my mothers whole wheat buttermilk pancakes she made when I was a kid. I can make them too, but nowhere near as good as hers. Always light and fluffy, goes great with real New England maple syrup, (grew up there) and strawberries! -capT

    Random Picture and Video Thread

My turn, this is a funny one for Christmas... Remember the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf? This is a funny holiday outtake on the old story. My uncle sent it to me yesterday and had me chuckling all night long! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCfKZHPbq5g -capT :D

    Secrete Handshake?

I'm not sure, but isn't AIFF the Apple equivalent of a WAV file? (Ask Lugano, our resident Mac expert) If so, I would think that this would probably work just fine as long as the Squeezebox can play it. It would just take up more space perhaps then say a Flac or something like that...

Upconvert 16/44khz wav to 24/96khz wav or flac?

JonFo, That makes much more sense to do it with a piece of hardware specifically designed to do this, perhaps like an upsampling DAC such as the PS audio Digital Link III for example. That would be the optimal thing to do. I was just messing around doing an experiment to see what it would...

Upconvert 16/44khz wav to 24/96khz wav or flac?

Folks, Well ok... I found something that will convert, Voxengo r8brain PRO. But as a demo it will only do 1 minute per file. Ok, no worries, that should be enough to make a good comparison. I couldn't do a true A-B comparison, but I played the upsampled wav (24/96) and then the original cd...

Upconvert 16/44khz wav to 24/96khz wav or flac?

KCL, You are right, I don't want to upconvert, I want to upsample. In any case, ripping it at that would probably be a much better idea if possible. I looked at foobar2000, but it would only allow me to change the sample rate, not the khz. I also checked out Exact Audio Copy, not quite what...

Upconvert 16/44khz wav to 24/96khz wav or flac?

Hello, I am looking for a way to upconvert some wav files I ripped from a cd to 24/96khz wav or flac files. I can upconvert to 24/48khz with Nero 7, but not up to 96. Is there another tool that will do this? Preferably free... :D Or at least a free trial period. I am messing with Source...

1080p over Component Video on a Video card?

Folks, It looks like it may end up that I will have to go the DVI to DVI or DVI to HDMI route. I guess I won't be able to do video switching unless I find a Video Card that can output 1080P over component. Though most seem to be able to at least do 1080i. Maybe that's not so bad...? I'll...
