    Stage cleaning

I use a micro vacuum attachment kit made for computers. It comes with a short small diameter flexible hose and various attachments including a dusting brush. Works great to get in all the crevices on the back of the Stage

Any opinions on Cary Cinema amps?

I love the Sunfire. The verdict is still out on whether I prefer the Cary over it or not. Aesthetically, it's a nice match to my Cinema 12 and I know Cary is well known for making great amps. The extra 2 channels is important as I plan to go 7.1 eventually. It does generate considerably more...

    Some Thoughts on new ML

Make sure to re-evaluate rake angle and placement after 100-200 hrs or so. The bass will deepen noticeably if they are anything like the Vantage was for me

    System #203 (Vantage)

Long overdue system update and photo! Things have changed quite a bit since I first bought my Vantages nearly 5 years ago to the date. I thought it was time for an updated photo and description. New Additions since 2007: ML Stage Center (Aug 2009) ML Helos 20 mounted as surrounds...

Shower cleaning the newer hybrid ESL's

Since the shower thread is a sticky, I though I should ask this question in a separate thread. I'm thinking of giving my Vantages a shower but the newer generation hybrids like this appear to be assembled differently than those mentioned in the sticky. There are 2 sets of hex screws that...

    Martin Logan Shower Cleaning PDF

Any changes for newer speakers like the Vantage Do the rails come off the same way on something like the Vantage model? I am considering giving mine a bath since they're about 5 years old now and I feel like vaccuming helps, but maybe not as much as it used to. Should one still avoid spraying...

Is my Stage center channel panel working?

So I played some 500 hz and 1 khz test tones over the weekend. I could hear both tone. I unplugged the power for a few seconds and could still hear them however. Roberto, how long does it need to be unplugged before sound goes away? I'd say it was unplugged for maybe 5 seconds.

Is my Stage center channel panel working?

According to the specs, the crossovers are at 450Hz and 2700Hz. So if I played a 1 khz test tone, I should be solidly in the panel frequencies. The cary does have a white noise generator which I have used. The channel balance setting required is consistent with the other channels. I'll check...

Is my Stage center channel panel working?

I was in the process of re calibrating my system today and noticed that I couldn't really hear anything coming from the ESL panel on my Stage. The DC power is connected and the blue light is on. However, when I disconnect the power I don't hear any real difference in the sound. Putting my ear...

Any opinions on Cary Cinema amps?

It's finally time to upgrade! I'm currently running a Sunfire TGA 5200 for my music and home theater needs. I've owned it for almost 5 years--great amp. Plenty of power with 200x5 into 8 ohms and the magic Bob Carver tracking down-converter design. I'm looking to replace it with a Cary...

    Considering multichannel analog preamp

When, if ever, will we see DAC with HDMI inputs?

    Considering multichannel analog preamp

Yep, that was the beauty I had pictured in my head. ;) If you're an audio guy who enjoys movies but doesn't want to sacrifice stereo or multichannel sound quality it just seems crazy to try and chase the surround processing format games at the preamp level.

    Considering multichannel analog preamp

That was my thought too! Since I want better analog all around why not kill two birds with one stone. Any suggestions on a multi-channel pre? Are Sunfire considered good preamp for analog?

    Considering multichannel analog preamp

I really want to upgrade from my H/K AVR which is performing all my pre/pro duties. It's 8 years old and I have a second room it could be moved to. I am torn with deciding whether I buy a higher quality (Classe,Simaudio, etc), but slightly outdated pre/pro with a good analog section or whether...

    Acura TV commercial

New Acuras look like an alien spacecraft to me. Way too much futuristic styling. Interior matches with enough buttons to make you feel like your flying a UFO
