Roger Sanders uses TL bass in all his ESL hybrids, but with active xo top and bottom (whereas Vantage only uses active xo in the bass).

This sounds more like an ESL panel separating or cabinet structural problem than a low HV problem. All your highs are still there, from all over the panel?

Request is ported, right? If you have DSP you could block the port and try a Linkwitz transform, a low end boost that requires a sealed box - and a FAT amp! Here's info on the stock Eminence 12 inch, copied from this post...

While it is possible, I don't recommend adding resistance to drop the level, as it further reduces the amplifier's control over the woofer (ruins the damping factor) and makes it even more muddy (and the passive xo makes it too muddy already). But if you didn't want to go to an active xo on the...

The triac is simply connecting ground to the bottom of the diode/capacitor HV ladder, so if you short out the triac (which is what the MS would normally do), the HV ladder should energize...

T1 is the little PS transformer on the pcb. One half of T1 feeds the HV section directly, and the other half feeds the music sensor section and eventually switches on the Triac1 (and the main LED) which then completes the HV circuit. On mine the HV faded away slowly lowering the panel's output...

You can check that one winding of T1 is outputting ~160VAC.

If you post the schematic for the Vantage HV supply, someone clever will tell you how to modify the sensitivity of the music sensor (iirc it's the ratio of two resistors) so it detects smaller signal, and then you won't have to hack them.

Buy used Ascent 'i' or Odyssey with the clear spar Gen2 panels. Get a demo beforehand.

It's all I ever talk about: It's all that's missing from these original ESL hybrids to bring them up to the bass performance of today's ML's. You just have to wrap your head around how to insert an active xo in front of the bass amp, so the amp can drive the woofer directly....
