Which Amp to buy? The most frequently asked question on this site. READ THIS!!

I love how far those monoblocks stay in Class A operation so long. I have my Aerius on 5 watts Class A and they sound better then the 85 watt Yamaha reciever I had them on when I first got them. -Geoff

    Audio Gear 'Hoarding'

I would agree that shopping for that "Next" audiopiece is almost as fun as owning and listening to it. -Geoff

Best US Site to Sell Used Audio Equipment?

Where do you live - at a San Fransisco Walgreens? Just kidding! I am 7 blocks from Detroit and never had a problem. I agree though with high dollar stuff. For stuff in the few hundred dollar range, though, as long as you are smart there is very little risk. Don't put your phone number, and put...

Best US Site to Sell Used Audio Equipment?

Honestly, I have the best luck with craigslist. I don't even like selling stuff anywhere else. You get the usual amount of BS and lowballs, but you can do a cash transaction face to face without worrying about getting scammed. If you are worried about privacy, you can use their email service to...

    Aerius i woofer advice

My guess is that it needs a wash. My speaker was like that too, then I rinsed it in the wash basin in my basement. Sounds like new now. -Geoff

Holo May Dac Level 3 in the House

Have you head the re-master of Abbey Road? That is easily the best sounding record I have ever heard. That kind of stuff is pretty much the only thing I am buying on vinyl these days. I hear what you are saying about records in general though, and I don;t even have a high end DAC! -Geoff

    Krell amp

I saw that Krell room at Axpona last week. it sounded absolutely amazing. I asked the engineer talking about it, he claimed it would do 400x2 into 8 ohms, that it would double 800x2 into 4 ohms, and was stable at 1600x2 into 2 ohms. And he claimed it was all Class A. I am not sure I believe the...

    My apartment setup

Did those capacitors make your Aerius sound better? Which ones did you replace? Also, have you ever tried putting some kind of sound absorbers on the wall behind the panels? I have Aerius in an area of my basement where they have to be close to the wall, and found putting some foam behind them...

Discussion About the Differences Between Different Panel Sizes

Rel claims the "Fastest" subs out there - one of the reasons that they don't offer a lot of DSP for their gear. I have a couple of their home theater line, and they are amazing. I can only imagine how good their big dogs must sound. -Geoff

Discussion About the Differences Between Different Panel Sizes

When I put a sub with my Aerius, they sounded ten times better. And that was just with an average sub (used Polk Audio). A top of the line Rel, JL Audio, or something similar would probably sound even better. I am not sure the measurements or the physics involved, I just know they sound a LOT...

    Hey Everyone!

That was my first combo - I tried a 200 wpc MAC6700 Receiver into some .7 maggies. BAD COMBINATION. It sounded awesome when you turned it up to 90%, but the amp got so hot you couldn't touch it. Got some Klipsch and I rarely get it over 50% now. I haven't tried the 6700 with my Aerius yet -...

Trouble with my older Marantz receiver. SR6006 Any ideas guys?

It could be specific to the input like you are saying. I would just keep playing around with it - see if you can narrow down to where the problem specifically happens. Try different physical plugs and if you have A B speakers, try those too. -Geoff

Trouble with my older Marantz receiver. SR6006 Any ideas guys?

I had an issue like that with an older Yamaha and it was the thermal protection kicking in. I felt over the top and the receiver was HOT. It was creating heat because a bunch of solders were cracked. When the solders crack the signal doesn't disappear right away - it starts arcing and generating...

Class A amplifiers and ESL 9?

I just hooked up a Nelson Passed designed Amp Camp Mono setup to my Aerius and I can't believe how good it sounds - and only like 5 watts per channel too (Pure Class A though!). Yea, I have it cranked up to almost the max (9 out of 10), but that is fine for normal listening. I wanted to see if...
