So it has been a while since i had posted here. i had gone away from my Montis and was trying the Revel Salon 2s, Goldenear Triton One, Dynaudio Confidence C4 and i am glad to report that went to hear the Renaissance speakers 10 days ago and my jaw dropped. It dropped so badly that i left the...
Guys,
there is no real need to flame me for trying different stuff. Let's face it, if you guys had the financial means or no wife, or kids as i do, you probably would be trying new stuff all the time as long as you enjoy it. (some of you are more content with one thing and that is it)
i don't...
Hi there guys,
As you know i had originally owned a pair of Montis which helped me voice a lot of different amplifiers (see my other thread where i comment on these) and so i had a great opportunity to grab a pair of Salon 2s at a great price so i decided to jump on these based on pure reviews...
mine was working and i did the test that i was told martin logan. It just wasn't clear enough when sitting off to the side so i sent it back. Now i am looking into a new replacement.
i wall mounted it and it was terrible terrible. i am looking into the huge bryston TC1 center channel. Not sure, but it looks like it might be the best speaker for my set up.
i just got off the phone with Bryston. i called them out on it and told him how do i know that their MASSIVE TC1 center isn't just an axiom speaker with a few tweaks and their response was that Axiom has an amazing facility with great quality controls and they have better economies of scale to...
Hi there,
As many of you know I had created a thread earlier regarding my issues with the stage x. I couldn't get it to sound good enough. I felt the midrange muddy or hard to understand at times. I called Martin logan and they had me make sure the panel was working (which it was). Long story...
can anyone tell me WHY would martin logan allow for this speaker to be mounted on the wall when electrostatic panels rely on a certain distance off the back wall in order for the sound to disperse? i was just thinking about this today that maybe wall mounting the stage x is not as effective as...
It's about 4 feet off the floor and mounted on the wall. It's approximately 3 feet behind the Montis.
I have not done the room correction yet but I suspect it might raise the volume quite high on the stge.
i have been listening to the stage without the montis and i think you could be correct. I feel as if it is perhaps the sound coming out the back of the montis that bounces off the wall behind them and that kind of "kills" the center channel. i can't believe nobody has detected such problem...
i actually just spoke to ML. They said i should unplug the speaker for about 5 hours and then leave it unplugged, but feed it speaker signal only and hear the speaker. Then, plug the power into the speaker and see if the center electrostatic piece "wakes up" creating more sound. i am going to...
Hi there,
As I stated in my previous thread, I just recently purchased a stage x to match my Montis. I also bought a Marantz 8802 processor (I have one for sale if anyone is interested) and this center channel is perhaps the hardest center channel to understand. What I mean by that, it's simply...
No the montis don't make this noise. Neither did the motif x. However, I think it's the fact that I'm using a crappy 103d as my preamp so each time I turn it on it passes a pop noise through it's rca outputs that travels to the amps and the to the center. I hope once I get a real processor, the...
