You could well be right. Although I have swapped the speakers from left to right and, frustratingly, I think the volume disparity has moved with them. But I still completely agree that the recordings can vary and there are also moments when I suspect it is more pronounced with vinyl than CD...
It's definitely that sort of call. I don't use these for movies etc, just music. I suspect ultimately I need to move to later/larger/better electrostats with more capability with their base drivers to get the big musical base notes that I'm currently finding are a bit lacking. The Aerius...
The difference is very subtle, to the point where sometimes it doesn't appear obvious at all, but on some tracks seems more apparent. It may be too subtle for a phone app, but will report back. Cheers
OK, a real schoolboy newbie question here. I have a pair of old Aerius i electrostatic which I purchased recently, have washed the panels (!) and am loving - the mid and upper ranges are sublime, but if I'm being critical then the base lacks a bit in musicality and certainly struggles with some...
Really glad it worked for you too. I did the same a month or two ago and the speakers were transformed... and are still working brilliantly. Perhaps the only thing I'm currently unsure of is whether one speaker is slightly louder than the other. My suspicion is it might be. I can counter for...
I've no doubt that he's probably right and there is indeed a risk. But I can also say that the improvement was not slight when I washed my panels, but utterly astonishing. I had a pair of speakers that were not listenable and only good enough to sell on as parts. I now have a pair of speakers...
I didn't touch the panels with anything other than water. No soap or any contact with brushes etc. There's a comment on arcing further back in this thread that might be relevant.
Thought I would add my feedback to this. Bought a pair of Aerius i electrostatics last week... sound was instantly disappointing, seemingly dull and base loaded. Sound coming from front and back of electrostatic panel, but volume was very low. So, I took the plunge (literally!) and stripped down...
