    Impedance Anyone?

Well, I am glad some people on this thread do not care about prices, but for myself, if I had that amount to spend, I would invest it into a pair of brand new ESL15A. I very much doubt anybody in a blind test could make the difference between the outrageously priced JC1+ and the Purifi 1ET400A...

    Impedance Anyone?

I do have the Purifi 1ET400A (25A) and although the latest Purifi 1ET7040SA may be slightly superior, the original Purifi performs superbly on my Summit X. Highly recommended in either version.

    Impedance Anyone?

Very interesting post, congratulations ttocs ! This should make all tube lovers think twice about the "best" amplifiers for Martin Logan speakers. Very few amplifiers will remain stable with such ultra low impedances, namely the Benchmark AHB2 and several Class D amplifiers such as the Purifi...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Interesting idea, you may be right 🎯. But I would be more comfortable with more "regular" samples, with too few samples it is too easy to make them match any ad hoc theory...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Thanks for the additional information ttocs, but unfortunately this does not seem compatible with several of the S/N already collected : RENPP005CES16, AFL9149857105. The last one could be made compatible if AFL9149857105 was incorrectly spelled, and was instead AFL9149857i05. But no way...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Thanks Len44, ttocs, BDH55. Based on your inputs, the Renaissance ESL models use a new 13 Characters coding, which started in 2016. Not clear if this new numbering scheme started for all new loudspeakers manufactured after 1/1/2016 (or some other calendar date), or if it started with item #1 of...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Thanks Len44, very interesting. Note that the S/N provided for a pair of Renaissance 15A in this Stereophile test of December 2016 is completely different from yours : AFL9149857105, AFL9149858105 That would mean, since the Renaissance 15A was introduced in September 2016, that Martin Logan...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

According to the original Decoder provided by Martin Logan, there is also some ambiguity related to the first 2 characters of the S/N : "S" could as well mean "Sequel" as "SL3". Obviously, "SS" means "Sequel" ("Sequel" as well as "Sequel II" ?). If anybody with a SL3 could provide the first 2...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

You decoded perfectly Robert, according to the Decoder SUSF 414 is SUMMIT 2007 June, 414th unit manufactured this month. Thanks TheSequel, I added a note for pre-1989 models (like Sequel 1) whose S/N seems to be only a 7 digits manufacturing date yymm###, with no built-in model identification.

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Thanks for the picture TheSequel, extremely curious. I found an other Sequel on Internet with the same numbering scheme (8812023). But Sequel II seems to follow the general (later ?) numbering scheme such as this S/N : SEDE411. At this point I am not too sure what I should do : introduce an...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Thanks for your input TheSequel. The Decoder is only for loudspeakers up to now, so it explains replacement panels S/N do not fit into it. But I am extremely surprised by your "8803173" S/N for your SEQUELs : the SEQUEL was part of the decoder sheet initially provided by Martin Logan, and their...

Martin Logan Serial Number Decoder - Collaborative Update Project

Thanks for your inputs Lite, could you please clarify the following points : "ym" = 2 capital letters The 2 Matinee examples pictures I found on Internet were MAUC030 and MATC 019. Which by itself is curious, since supposedly same models have the same first 3 capital letters (the 4th letter is...
