Hello all
Just popped in to say "hi" and that my Logans are still going strong. Also, it's a shameless plug for my new web site. It seems that the more sites that show your web address, the better your ranking with Google. So here it is, http://www.tophatterchimneysweep.com.
Sorry...
It's...
Excellent find, Kaliar. Just downloaded and burned a cd. I particularly like the pure sine waves - great for tracking down buzzes and rattles in the room. Easier to use and more frequencies than the other test discs I've been using.
Thanks,
Bill
I have both and find the SL3 to be leaner sounding of the two. The Sequell has a larger bass cabinet which makes for a bit more bass energy. The panels are virtually the same sounding, and I find both to be very musical and quite a steal on the used market.

Grin, I never heard the Prodigy or Odyessy the Summit is replacing, but if Gayle says they are able to equal their performance with a high tech smaller package, I'll believe him. They sounded very good with various types of music. The new panel is said to equal almost twice the size of the...
Actually, I'm in that rare place where I'm happy with my current system and have no real urge to upgrade anything. It was fun to look and listen, though, and meet the Martin of Martin Logan. :)

Apparently this was the first public demo of the Summit, hosted by Gayle Sanders and Terry of Overture Ultimate Audio/Video in Deleware. These were the first production models, numbers 1 and 2. The electronics were all Spectral and even though the speakers were only 48 hours out of the box and...
Ouch...I've been lucky, knock on wood. Squirrels are great sales aids - nothing like a dead, stinkin squirrel to promp a quick call to the chimney sweep. A cleaning and a stainless steel cap sale to prevent further occurances is practically guaranteed. :)
Bill
Thanks Keliar and you have a keen eye there Lance. That is my spare work hat.
By night I am enjoying "the Black Hole Cinema" and by day I am The Top Hatter Chimney Sweep...crawling around some more dark holes...hmmmmm...maybe that is the attraction of the tall Logans - with the lights dimmed it...
Thanks for the comments guys. I feel honored to have my system here among so many great systems and their passionate owners. Not many people "get" our hobby so its nice to he here with those that do.
Yes Jeff, I'm having fun. If not, why bother? :-)
Eric, they are sealed subs powered by two...
Hello Eric, Yes I made these myself. The Canare is .69 from Markertek, the teckflex wrap and heat shrink tubing is from Partsexpress, and the bananas are Nakamichi from Lenexpo on ebay at about a buck apiece. I believe they may be a bit better sounding to my ears than the non biwire Mit...
Recently added some acoustic foam in the rear corners - tightened up the image. Beneath the foam is one of the two homemade sub dogs - the "cabinet" is inch and a half thick 24" by 24" by 24" terra cotta flue liner. Massive beasts!!
Behind the removable smoked plexiglas panels are the...
