Okkey dokkey boys and girls, I got this gem in a box set for $2.00, the cd was in there by mistake, Larri Anderson ~ 'Ghosts', really wicked cool song, might have been a one take recording on the drums and most of her vocals...which are stellar!! The background vocals are just to die for! Check it.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1o5eRr_HWw

I agree, 'Live in London' on BBC America is a must see!! She has grown up and can do some amazing things with her vocal cords, she can really go deep with the vibrato, then jump into a soar of smokie lovelyness

I hear a panel vibration when cranking her, is that the shitty recording or her overloading a set of tones? Anyone else hear that?

Adele said in her interview with Graham Norton that she had an operation on her vocal cords which increased her range both in bass and treble. I just ordered the "Live At Prince Albert Hall" on DVD hoping the recording quality is better than on the CDs. Hoping they offer the "Live At BBC". Would love to hear her (new and improved) voice in higher quality!

Thanks for the recommendation of KERRI Anderson's "Ghosts" which according to discogs.com was released as a 12" vinyl promo with 4 tracks. Was your cd a burned copy?

Her album "Labyrinth" is very nice also from the sound bites I listened to.

After watching latest episode of Blacklist, came across "Dear Trouble" on the "Sleep and other Drugs" album by Correatown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOBzbwnhq5g
Don't you just love the Shazam app! :-D

BigDude, your killing me bud...Ghosts on Lp?? My analog heart must have that on the Thorens!! Her album "Labyrinth" on Impact Records is what I got in the box set, impressive disc, killer sound quality

Thanks for the vid on Correatown, I just ordered it, nice music!! I'd not heard of them before.
I'm a sucker for a great vocalist and playing A-Ha ~ 'Minor Earth, Major Sky' right now. Morten has a range of what? six octaves? holds a note for 20.2 seconds on "Summer Moved On"

Looks like "Ghosts" is available...and the 12" was available with CDR. Must be what you have?!

Just watched her "Live At The BBC" hosted by Graham Norton. Fantastic concert with her singing many favorites including "A Million Years Ago". Just wish the sound quality of her recordings was better which would make her singing even more enjoyable!

Interesting. I thought the mastering of "25" was actually really pretty good.

Listening to the Tord Gustavsen Trio "Being There", Redbook, up sampled to DSD 128.

Fantastic album and a great recording.

"25" - Vinyl Rip vs CD

"25" vinyl version is from reasonably compressed master, CD and download are not.

FWIW, had an opportunity yesterday to compare the original CD release of "25" with a rip from the vinyl album. One word..."Amazing!"

The ripped vinyl version was not compressed, less bass emphasis, vocals were natural and rich. To my ear, Adele's voice had the qualities she attributed to her vocal chord operation...deeper, richer lower octaves and smoother, extended highs. Actually wonderful to listen to whereas the CD was almost unlistenable.

Gonna be looking for a vinyl "21" to rip!

Eva Cassidy, "Nightbird". Redbook. I ordered this 4 LP, two CD and a DVD a while ago and highly recommend it for the musical performance as well as the recording quality. I'm currently listening to the first CD and it is stellar. There are a total of 33 songs on the two CDs and also on the four LPs. There are 9 or 10 performances on the DVD. This is a live recording.

I found Kerry anderson CD on amazon. When I received it today it is a promotional copy and says Not For Sale on it. It has the same four songs as the vinyl.
