I'm looking for a used Simaudio I7 in excellent condition about
a year old. What's a fair price for this unit w/out warranty?
Max price you'd pay? I'd be dropping 100W from my
Musical Fidelity A5 to the Sim. Don't think that'd be a big problem
but i hate having an extra remote, since i now only need one to
run my A5 amp and A5 CD.

For a fee

Audiogon offers a companion blue book service. A good rule is 50-60% of new. Depends on availability, condition and how bad you want it. "White elephants" believe it or not go for less

thx gregadd,

that's about the range i was expecting....now i just have to figure
if $4-$4,300 is worth it to upgrade. I think the MF A5 is an excellent
amp. Hard to believe i could get a significant enhancement in sound
to justify the cost.

it's always worht it.

Only you can answer that question.
IMO(never humble) the right amp can make or break an ml system. I have not heard the MF. I like the Simaudio both aesthetically and sonically.
