Hi, I have a set of Summits, manufactured the last year of production before they changed to the Summit X model. I Have been traveling and was unable to enjoy them so I put them up for sale. some guy tried to low-ball me by telling me they probably needed new panels as they "wear out" or some such. Anybody know anything about this?
thanks,
joeb

Yes, they wear out . . . meaning they lose their high end slowly over time and eventually need to be replaced, in like . . . fifteen or twenty years or more. New panels are expensive, but need not be purchased unless actually necessary. My Summits are older than yours and still sound great. I would ignore the low-baller.

what Rich and Dave said.. Tell that potential seller he's full of it. If the speakers were kept clean and out of humidity and smoke, they will last a LONG time.

Thanks!

As I suspected. Thanks guys, They sound as good today as when I bought them.
