Does anyone else have this problem on occasion? I push one channel or other button on the remote, and another button flashes, and directs to the flashing button.

Never had this problem, but did you try to recalibrate the touch screen?
If not hold down the main button for 5 seconds and it'll bring up the settings screen. Go into the calibration section and with a pda stylus recalibrate the screen.
