Does anyone happen to know of a US dealer that carries the Clearaudio Champion Level II turntable? There are some online audio stores that carry the Clearaudio line but I haven't found one that shows they have this particular model.

Anyone at the RMAF come across a Clearaudio dealer? If so let me know. Thanks.

Clearaudio

Quintessence Audio in Morton Grove Il.( a suburb of Chicago) is where I bought my Champion a couple of years ago. Mic the owner is incredibly knowledgeable of all things audio and in particular TTs.
This could be quite a drive for you however.

Maybe I'll call to see what they have. Thanks

You should also check out http://audiogon.com
Just search for Clearaudio

There is a very nice complete setup for sale on Audiogon and I'm waiting for a reply from the seller to see if we can work something out.

There is another one for sale at an excellent price in Europe but it never responded to my inquire. I don't think I want to bother with the hassle and risk of an overseas transaction anyway.

Thanks for the tips.

Wardsweb's photo sold it to you, didn't it? Positve proof of the danger of audio porn.

Check the Stereophile review... can be difficult to setup in case you buy new or have to take it apart.

Have you got a link to the one in Europe?

Craig, Audio Unlimited in Denver is a Clearaudio dealer. They are showing the Master Statement at the show. I haven't been to their room yet. I'll try to talk to John Barnes about it today.

I knew about the table before I saw the photo but it did fuel the fire.

Thanks for the link - was just curious. There's a Clearaudio dealer very near to me http://www.coolgales.com. I thought about buying one yesterday - then I decided I'd stick with my Michell, as I have been so happy with it for 18 years - I ordered a lot of upgrade parts including the Orbe platter yesterday. Extremely good value for the upgrade, really - it gets it very close to Orbe status for £441.

See pics below. Worth thinking about. Read some reviews...

My Gyro is in bronze & black, with smoked perspex. The perspex plinth is going to be replaced with a black granite one. I may go bling and gold plate the bronzed metal parts...

Whilst I do prefer the Clearaudio lookswise, it's not by much. I believe these are much more adaptable/upgradable than the CAs, and that may pay off over time.

Craig, I talked with my dealer here in Denver at the show (John Barnes over at Audio Unlimited). While he doesn't have any he introduced me to the importer and here's what he told me. They have a whole warehouse of older models that are new in the box. He's going to send John a list of the inventory next week (after everything get's back to normal after the show). John said he'd be happy to help find one for you and that you can work through me or contact him directly. Again, he asks that you wait until next week becuase they'll still be spending the next couple of days breaking down from the show (they had 5 rooms) and re-setting up in their shop, but here's his contact info:

Just remind him that he and I talked about this and that you are the out of state friend I was mentioning. Good luck!
