Hello,

I recently purchased a ML Grotto sub and whould like
to know how long it takes to turn itself off? I have
the sub hooked-up to a Krell 400xi thru the preamp.
Now, everytime I turn the system on, the sub turns on,
but when I turn the system off the sub light stays
green not yellow. I have the sub set on "Auto." How
can I get the sub to turn off when I turn the system off; and make the
sub go into "Energy Mode." (I want the sub to go into
"energey mode" everytime I turn it off)

Thanks,
Matt

I haven't used a ML sub yet but the speakers take about 15-20 minutes or so to go into sleep mode. Check back in the morning to see if there off. It's sort of like the refrigerator light. How do you know its off when the door is shut?

Hehe.

Matt, its a good thing that your sub doesn't turn off immediately. My present one takes half an hour. But, my old one took only ... 10 minutes(?), and it was actually a terrible nuisance during a movie.

You know, during calm scenes, the sub would be off, then with any audio that was introduced with bass, Id always hear the annoying thump of the sub turning back on.

Hola Matt...also your electrical bill is not going to be high, due to the fact that the sub would be in idle...and no power consumption will be present...happy listening,
Roberto.

OK, It takes about 40 min for my Grotto sub to turn itself off. Does anyone know how many watts it is using when - the stereo is off and the sub's green light is lite for the final 40 minutes (Just before it goes into energy mode?:music:

Thanks,

...Will my electric bill go 'sky high' by leaving my subwoofer
plugged in all the time?
No. The Grotto, when the power switch is set to ‘Auto’ or
‘Standby’, will draw about 13 watts when idle.

This is what the owners manual says regarding your question...happy listening,
Roberto.
