Hey there all-
I currently have SL3, Parasound amp and pre-amp. My SL3 are mint, however, as you all know, this model has been around a while. I have them mated to a powered 15 in Dahlquist sub for the lowest octave. I only stress the sub part because I realize that the Vantage uses a powered sub portion.
My question is this, has the technology significantly changed in the last 10 years that I'd notice a big difference in the SL3 with a powered sub and a pair of Vantage? I assume the bass section would be pretty good on both but I guess I'm most interested in any true improvements in mids/highs with models later than SL3. For example, I read that the effective surface area of the new planar driver is larger than old models. Will I hear this? Just curious and don't want to drop $2000 if the consensus is that it wouldn't be (much of) an improvement. Jay
