I have a pair of 701's and love them. I previously had Sennheiser 650's that were good but were stolen. Never have regretted buying the 701's. They do everything the 650"s did and much more. Better low end and livlier mids and highs.

ML and tubes I run a Cary SLI-80 (40W triode) for the panels and a McIntiosh 7270 for the woofers with what I feel are excellent results. I tried just running tubes (also using ARC 100 MkII) for full range and thought the bass lacking.

Go Tube/SS I use the power from my Cary SLI-80 for the stat panels, divide the output signal from it between a MacIntosh 7270 and a Depth sub. That makes the panels sing and also have tube pre-amplification for the base driven by the Mac. It sounds great. Good luck
