I purchased my Spires on Audiogon and had a great experience. The seller had a huge feedback history which helped. I also looked up his home and work address through Google map street view. Having a picture of the house in a good neighborhood gave me a little more reassurance.

I agree with you and originally tried to set it up that way, however, the preamp and decoder are not long enough to support the feet of the amp.

Congrats on the new speakers Gordon! Keep us posted on how they sound compared to the Vantages as they are broken in. I almost broke down and purchased a pair of Vantages last weekend. I'm having a hard time waiting to save up for the Spires, but I know they are worth the wait.

Another pic- Middle Atlantic fan. This is a great product. Flows 100cfm with 4 fans and their speed responds in proportion to how hot the cabinet is and shuts off automatically.
