    Kick me in the Butt

I recently replaced my SuperCube II with a Depth i and I'd say there's no comparison. Everything sounds better... Movies, music, you name it. Of course the SuperCube II isn't quite as beefy as the SuperCube but I would still expect there to be a noticable upgrade with the Depth. -steve

New to share some Aerius HT repair experience

Did you try contacting Martin Logan customer support? They might be able to just sell you a replacement board if you can't get the actual transistor. -steve

    System #203 (Vantage)

Brian... What diameters & lengths did you go with on the F6 Sleeving? Do you like it? You've got me thinking about doing something similar to clean up my wiring. :) I have all my gear in a closet but I still have a good size bundle of cables coming into my room via a 2" pass through...

System #45 (Monolith IIIx, SL3XC, Sequel II)

Nothing on the Audessey setup yet. :( I just ran Audessey on my 4806 for the first time with my new ML's last week and all of the curves seem to be a bit brighter then I'd like. I thought I recalled this being due to poor mic curves in some cases and there was a way to correct this by hand...

New here - Dilemma on what to purchase.

I would just agree with what others have said... I've been thrilled with my setup of Vantages for the mains, a Stage for the center, and Vignettes for the surrounds. The imaging from the Vantages is phenominal and everyone who listens will be convenced the centers on even when it's just 2ch...

    Home theatre PC

I use a Creative X-Fi in my HTPC because it lets you do digital out (coax or optical) in a special bit-matched mode to the reciever. I've had an HTPC for about 5 years now (on my second one) and love it. I don't actually use it for DVR though. I use mine to playback my CD's ripped with EAC...

    Ello

I've had my Vantages for a couple of weeks now and while they sounded pretty good in the local Hifi shop, they sound phenominal at my place. It takes a bit of tweaking to get the imaging right (and I don't think I'm even there yet) but every single person I'd played them has made the comment...

    ipod touch vs squeezebox

It would be thicker and most likely require a significant case redesign. Different case means a different assembly line which would add to the cost not take away. The IPT is just the iPhone without a 3G radio right so it's probably just a switch to remove/disable that feature of the iPhone...

    Networked Devices in your rack?

Yeah... Gotta love HDMI. I have a Comcast STB, PS3, Custom Media Center PC, and a Denon 1920 all running to my Denon 4806 via HDMI. And from the Denon I have a single HDMI cable running to the Plasma. Only the Media Center needs a seperate audio connection so the reduced cable clutter is...

Dedicated 20 amp for music room?

You got a great deal at $250. I just had a dedicated 20amp line ran to my home theater. It was $375 and the guy only had to go 6'. He punched it through a wall from my garage to the closet with my gear in it so it took him all of 30 minutes. Damn contractors! -steve

Squeezebox 3 stream is not as good as actual CD...

Has anyone compared the output of an SB3 to the output of a HTPC with an X-Fi and bit-matched playback? Or better yet an HTPC+X-Fi versus a high end CD Transport? I have a Denon 1920 that I use for SACD & DVD-A playback so I wouldn't consider it super high end. But for CD Playback I can't say...

A/V Receiver or Pre/Pro for new Blu-Ray formats?

All DD+ tracks include a manditory 640k AC-3 track which is the maximum bitrate supported by standard DD. The typical AC-3 stream on a SD DVD is around 448k so even when using the core AC-3 track, Blu-rays are likely to sound better then their SD counterparts. I'm not exactly sure what the PS3...
